Officers Association Residential Home 'Huntly'
Are you looking for a comfortable retirement home in beautiful
surroundings at an affordable fee? Did you hold a commission
in HM Armed Forces or are you a widow/widower of an
ex-officer?
Huntly is the Association's retirement home for elderly single
ex-officers, male or female, of all three Services, and widows
and widowers of ex-officers who wish to enjoy an active
retirement in a peaceful and tranquil environment. Located
in the village of Bishopsteignton in south Devon and situated
in its own extensive landscaped grounds, Huntly offers the
comfort, security and peace of mind of a community while
preserving the independence and privacy of its individual
residents. All residents have a single room with en-suite
facilities and the spacious public rooms include a
Dining-Room, Drawing-Room, Library, Snooker Room, Ante Room
and two TV Rooms. The climate is notably mild and dry, being
on the English Riviera. Fast communications by both road and
rail are conveniently close. Applicants must be mobile, able
to look after themselves and attend meals. There are no
medical facilities at Huntly, although the local doctor visits
each week and welfare officers are employed to provide support
for the residents. All residents pay a standard fee that
covers their accommodation, meals and welfare support.

The Regimental Collect of
the Adjutant General’s Corps
On
occasions when some form of religious observance is made, it
is usual to include the Corps Collect (the word
“Collect” meaning “that which is selected for use on a
particular day or occasion”.) It is essentially a family
prayer, the form of words reflecting the Corps’ role and
purpose. The Collect is:
Father of
all, grant to us who are bound together in the Adjutant
General’s Corps, The grace to understand that those whom we
support depend on Our integrity, expertise and resolution, and
following in the footsteps of your Son, May we be mindful of
their needs and faithful in our responsibilities:
Through
the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The
Regimental Grace
It is customary for the PMC (or the
Chaplain or a senior cleric, if present) to say grace before
diners take their seats at Regimental Dinners or other formal
dining occasions. The Corps Grace is:
Lord, we,
the officers of the Adjutant General’s Corps here assembled,
welcome our distinguished guests to our table and join with
them in thanking You for providing good food, good wine and
good companionship. As we enjoy these bountiful gifts, we
remember our colleagues in the Corps, wherever they are
serving. In Your name, Oh Lord. Amen.
All
present join in saying “Amen”
